Rust Never Sleeps
Spent Saturday riding the Swamp Rabbit from the house and rode over to the YMCA, then thru Cleveland Park, we decided "hey why not? Let's ride the whole length of the Swamp Rabbit trail"
Don't know the total mileage... have heard 13 miles one way? ...It was hot and muggy
Found a section of Singletrack near Watkins Bridge Rd. i will have to explore more on my own.

Situation: Critical
Yeah last night was our Bikeville June Critical Mass in G'Vegas... The temperature all day 100*F heat index day then an intense thunder & lightning storm at 5:00 resulted in a bunch of "no-shows". So it was me, Meeker and Mark "the Fuzz" .... He played a key role in keeping us 'in check'. the rain cooled things nicely, and it was damn fine ride around town....
I'll tell you what; Nobody f*cks with you, on the road, when you're packing a 9mm.
we toured the newly paved and road dieted (4 lanes to 2 lane) Washington Street with it's new bike lanes.... super sweet!
then it was over to Park Ave. to check out the new bike lanes there... From there is it was through Cleveland Park... since it was only the three of us we decided to hit some dirt by taking the ride off road... hitting the Troop 19 trails in CP...good stuff.

Today was the Big Daddy / Big H ride at DuPont State Forest. Man it was hot... good ride!

Summer Stormin'
just a couple of minutes after posting on Billy's blog about the nice shots he took of big ass storm clouds, i look out my office window the see the sky churnin' behind the house. Fueled by today's 98*F temp and high humidity.... It was pretty cool to watch roll in, also pretty violent 50-60mph wind gusts, luckily none of our trees came down like what happened down the street a couple of days ago when a hundred year old oak came down on to Grove rd.

Building the Dream
was up in the 828 yesterday in Brevard NC to visit my favorite pipe welder...
Stephen Stickel . He has always been the wizard behind that curtain,
though his head is not really that big....
Some know him as the lurker on the mtbr forums. I think he has Cyril trained to troll the web forums.
. i met Steve prolly 3 years ago and know probably a dozen folks who ride and love Steve's functional art
Man oh man does he build some sweet ass pipe dreams.
He is a true artist in every sense of the word. Got to spend the afternoon shooting some photos for his website. and couldn't help but drool over pretty much everything in the shop.
