Cue a Collective Sigh of Relief

Nothing Like It!

Nothing like cutting new singletrack by hand....We had a Great turn out for the Sunday Issaqueena (Clemson) trail workday. we had 20+ people and we hand cut 1/3 maybe a 1/2 mile of new singletrack. connecting with the lower Tripple Creek Trail that heads over to the Anthill , Waterfall & Doyle Bottom sections of Issaqueena. i was cooked by the end of the 4 hours.

Thanks to Rocky and Derrick of Clemson Cyclery for organizing this work day. And thanks for the cookout afterwards, you guys rock.

JD on the drum kit... sorry for the bad photo, but i was a little toasted at this point of the evening... made for an interesting midnight ride through town, so i decided to go stealth mode through Cleveland Park and behind the Y .... Then i cut through to the Cresent and McDaniel area to get back to Funkytown (where i live), instead of hitting the major roads.

Saturday was a 26 mile hungover spin on the Swamp Rabbit up to the end on the Swamp Rabbit trail had to buy a new Bodum Coffee press ( dropped the last one)

2 rides in 3 days? Inconceivable !

been a while since i had been up to Pisgah, so Friday i grabbed the bike, then over to BeatGraphic's to help Kev pack up all of the shirts for SEX (Suspension Experts)

DSCN0278

then to drop off the printed goodies in Asheville. Good seeing MikeR and Shelley, sorry to hear about your dad Kevin.

Then from there it was down to Brevard to meet with Steve, and shoot some photos of his latest build.

man his bikes are sweet!

Then over to Hit Black mountain before losing daylight. Lower Black and Thrift Cove are both in the process of a facelift, in an effort to fix some of the water issues and damage. There has been a shitstorm of complaints on the MTBR forum HERE .

Good Seeing you WesD (been a while)

To tell you the truth; i rather enjoyed the work done to the trail, yeah there needs to be some finishing work done to clean up some spots, but i think the work was top notch. Sure there are some muddy spots, but i think that is to be expected; since it's rained nearly everyday for a month. I guess haters and just going to hate regardless... I had a blast coming down Black Mtn. the upper section of Thrift had just been worked on and was a little soft.

Got back from my ride and seems the Hoop Fairy left me a set of chrome Salsa Delgado's. thanks Hoop Fairy!

Saturday was spent in the back doing yard work, fuggin weeds... rain forced me inside so it was back to work.

DSCN0319
Sunday i took a break from the grind and went out to enjoy the heat out at Paris Mountain... mid nineties, no breeze, enough humidity to just add to the suffering...

DSCN0321

DSCN0342

decided to do some exploring around the backside of the park (north) and to check on the work being done at the Buckhorn Lake.

DSCN0323

The park is redoing the old Cabins and Bathhouse. This place is awesome and i can't wait to organize some kind of bike event here soon.

oh yeah, my condolences to Broussard for the loss of his bike... somewhere between Pisgah and Tryon (45 miles) his bike came off of the car (without him noticing it) ... Man i would be sick to death... best of luck Zack, hope it turns up soon (and in good shape), hopefully if someone does find it, it'll hit one of the local shops.

back to it!

Lucky Dog... i think he'll grow into the position

here's a Non Bike, but Art Project i've been working on Comic Superheros wall art for a friend. I had done a few in the past for my son's room... Cut out of 1/8" birch plywood, they're cut out using a scroll saw and sanded then painted with acrylic paint. Other than the sanding they're super fun to do. I haven't painted anything in years!
