To be out of focus...
sorry for the lack of posting here lately, juggling real work ( you want fries with that?) and a dozen + side projects i can't seem to get done at night; throw in a mix of little family obligations, then some high school and indoor lacrosse w/ the kid, and it all adds up to zero free time or ride time.
Good to have my Bro-in-law's oldest son Ken home (visiting) from Texas for my wife's B-day; he's home after 2 tours in Iraq, hopefully is not heading to Afghanistan.
talked with
Steve the builder the other day, and the new project is on the table and he's crunching the numbers

Sunday was spent at Paris Mountain flagging and GPS plotting the reroute we are proposing to SCPRT, Friends of Paris and Hincapie Sports for support. The reroute is on the Downhill section of the Sulphur Springs tr.

Shrimper had flagged a route back in March, so Sunday i had to plot it so we had something on paper to get the process going. it's going to cool if the Park does decide to let it proceed... though talking with a few riders who were on the downhill, most were sayin' i like it the way it is.... i know there will be people bitchin' about. Right now it's an eroded mess; a fall line trail that drops more than 600 feet of elevation of in less than a half mile that only a small handful of people can ride it. The goal is to have a trail that is still a fun and challenging downhill (Kanuga like), but is also climbable uphill getting riders off the road to the top. Right now the trail is doing nothing but dumping washed out sediment into the stream. The berms and turns we built for the past two DH races. are all blown out from erosion. the new trail will cross the existing trail and our hope is we could block off the gnarly sections and then re-open the gnar for a race event. We'll See
