Memorial Day weekend

It is Hard to believe it was 18 years ago i got out of the Navy. Damn, i don't feel that old...

yep... too damn funny...

This Sunday we were out Supporting the 2 Wheel cause with yet another Bike Skillz clinic at the AMGEN Stars & Stripes Challenge out at Gateway Park in TR behind Sunrift. Not too many people on Mountain Bikes for this event, but it was some good exposure for the club.

Critical Mass...I Mean Cruise...Whatever...

Last night was the Bikeville.org Bike Month "Critical Cruise"... With it being Memorial Day weekend, the USA Cycling Road Championship in town, plus a nice mid-afternoon thunderstorm may have had something to do with the small turn-out.

The Safe Streets Save Lives (SSSL) project is the first initiative of its kind that is working towards reducing the number of automobile / bicycle crashes and deaths on South Carolina roads. This project represents a public and private partnership in South Carolina striving for the improved safety of all bicyclists on the state's roadways. This is a long-term investment for the betterment of South Carolina and all of its residents—when roads improve for the safety of bicyclists, they become safer for all users.

Bicycling is good for South Carolina, and it’s a fun and healthy activity for the people it serves. So let’s strive to respect basic laws when traveling on the roads. Following these laws, we can be safe, have fun, and most importantly—we can get there together.

Later that day met up with one of my best friends from school. Chris was in town from Indy for the Top of the Hops Beer Festival and does murals for Blue Moon Brewery. Their theme is artfully crafted beers, so they hire artist to hit local beer events and let the crowd help paint the murals that will later become billboard art. Pretty cool.

Hadn't seen Chris in a bunch of years. We ended up taking him around downtown and sank a sushi boat at Tsunami's .

Next morning i was supposed to get Harrison up to Hendersonville for the CYMBL kids race#2 ... Well that didn't happen... My allergies were raging... could breathe, sinus infection from Hell.... all of it in behind the eyes. Don't know what was in the air but something triggered it. I just wish it would friggin' Rain so it would wash away the pollen and dust.
