Friday after work went out to dig a little on the Downhill course at Paris... it was 101 when i left the house,  it was 98*F at the Archery lot,  worked for and hour ,  hiked up to the rockgarden and used a whole can of "Instant Death" on the yellow jacket nest  under the step bridge.  Yellow jackets are bad this year!  hate 'em with a passion.  their only purpose in life is to fuck shit up...Vikings of the insect world...

After hiking back down got dressed, grabbed the bike to head up the hill.   the road to the top was like a blast furnace, heat rolling off the asphalt.   Funny Jeremy & Matt passed me a couple times while they were shuttlin' up the road.  I needed the work out anyways.   the Sulphur Springs downhill is so dry and loose,  the dirt like a fine talc,  berms crumbling. we're in some serious need of rain.

Computer Update....Still f*cked... i'm tired of talking about it, just like you're tired of hearing about it.
getting no work done...while having the problem fixed  professionally...

last night was over to Spartanburg for the SORBA meeting & group ride @ Southside/Croft.   got there it was 97*Fuggin' hot & humid.

halfway through the ride on Lizard Trail the sky burst and downpour was pretty heavy.  towards the end of Lizard front wheel washed out over a slick root and i tattooed a tree with my shoulder...  reduced some tire pressure and less than mile later i pinched flat the rear tube....Still pouring  changed it out the tube... used to 2 cartridges to fill,   and wham  the tire bead was seeded so the tube blew out between the rim and sidewall  like a boa constrictor.  Raining harder at this point.... so got the tube back in.... and had to hand pump it to get it filled again.   finally made it out.

nothing like being the fat slow guy (every group ride needs one) i wore that badge with honor.

Independence Weekend

Not much going on,  still trying to sort out computer issues. I'm also trying to figure out why the hell my iPhone won't sync with my Mac computer....  It did when i purchased it.... It was cause of all of my computer woes,  now they wont connect...

Thursday was a after work Swamp Rabbit ride with the wife.

Friday evening was trail work with Jerret, Josh and Cecil

we're making some good progress on the Downhill Course.  News about the race coming this week!

Sunday left Greenville and it was 97*F ;  got up to DuPont  and it was an unbearable 74*F .  there had been just enough rain to keep the dust down.  Man it was a nice break from the sweltering heat here in the South.   Pulled into the lot at Cascade Lake got dressed, unloaded the bike, talked to Valerie who had just finished a ride... then i'm looking around  "ah Shit, where is my helmet?"  oh it was in the basement after our Swamp Rabbit ride with Sonya  "dammit!"  Valerie offered me her helmet, but there was no way my melon would fit... So  i decided to hit a easier set of trails and enjoy an easy ride...  This was a test ride using the new iPhone and MyTracks Ap.   for some reason  it plotted the ride on two maps...  hmmm i'm still trying to figure this technology out.

Route: Longside> Twixt> Rock Quarry > Micajah > Buck Ridge > Tower to Rich Mountain Rd. >Back down Tower> Buck Ridge > Micajah > Rock Quarry > one more loop > Buck Ridge > Micajah > Wilkie > back to car.

only had one person the whole ride, say "hey you really should wear a helmet!"   thanks buddy, i normally do, just spaced it! "

Yeah, i don't think the iphone is going to replace my Nikon any time soon...
